It was windy today from the start. So much for the wind coming in later….. that didn’t happen. What a beautifully mixed day of clouds…. light rain…. lots of rainbows…. sun…. and three wonderful turtles to swim with! I couldn’t believe I had three turtles! I took tons of pictures and some video too. Too windy for safe Paddling.today …. but there is always hope for tomorrow….and hey….. Spring is coming so there will be more nice days for Paddling. I can’t wait!

It was a beautiful morning! A bit breezy…. but I was happy to be at the beach. I walked first and then hurried to swim because I could already see the white caps looming and the wind would come in soon enough. The water was pretty choppy and that created shadows under the water…… I don’t like shadows under the water! I had a great swim and near the end….. a lovely turtle surprised me by surfacing right under me. I had to move out of the way quickly! I managed to get one good photo of the turtle right under me. I was so happy to see a turtle! I swam north with it for awhile and then turned south. I was able to coast back thanks to the wind! Not a good day for Paddling…. but maybe tomorrow…..

It was a beautiful morning! I walked the beach until the sun came up and then went for a nice swim. It was great to get back out in the water after nearly a week of having to stay out if it. No turtles this morning… but I did see some fish. The wind was threatening so maybe Paddling tomorrow….
Nice sunset after three days of no sunsets! That’s was really weird….
It was a beautiful morning….. the sun came out right on time today! Maui is one of the most beautiful places in the world! I walked the beach and the wind picked up. I went swimming and it was wonderful! No turtles today but a great swim. Water is still pretty clear too. After I came in the wind started playing games. Three outrigger canoe paddlers came in….. shook their heads and reported choppy conditions. Oh no. Well I waited around and it stayed choppy until almost 9:30 a.m. Then the wind backed off and the ocean seemed to smooth out. All the paddlers who went out, were staying close by….. everyone knew the wind was being unpredictable. By then it was getting late and the sun was starting to cook so it was time for this wahine paddler to head home. Tomorrow I have some dental work being done and I apparently can’t get ocean water in my mouth for a week. Not again! Well if I feel like it and we get a calm day…… I could go out Paddling, right? We will see…..
Wow! It’s been so rainy and cloudy …. but today it cleared up and was beautiful. The sun still struggled to come out, but it finally did make it out. I walked the beach and then headed out for a swim. The first turtle I spotted was so little … and fast! I didn’t have time to get my camera ready. Then I continued swimming south and suddenly there was a big turtle right in front of me! I turned around to swim with it. It was just meandering around and in no hurry. That enabled me to get three videos and some good photos. After it headed out to sea….. I finished my swim. The wind was being a bit unpredictable and it looked strangely bumpy out there….. but I went out Paddling anyway. It sure was bumpy too. But the wind wasn’t really bad and J couldn’t see any white caps out there … so that was odd. I stayed out for an hour and paddled the bumps. It sure was a beautiful day! On my way back the ocean smoothed out somewhat. Now the clouds are sneaking back in and I wouldn’t be surprised if it rained again. I’m hoping for another sunny morning tomorrow ….
Another stormy morning. This time moving from the south east and over all the islands. There is a flash flood warning island wide. It’s amazingly humid. I got so hot walking the beach! Even my sunglasses were fogging up! I did swim even though without the sun the visibility often isn’t as good. To my surprise the water was pretty clear and I got to swim with two turtles! It made my day. The first turtle was on the move but the second turtle was hanging around and kept getting in my face! I snapped a photo as it was swimming at me and it actually came out good! Paddling was another story. I couldn’t decide whether to go out and then I just went for it. It wasn’t nearly as calm as when I swam. And then…. it started raining! I paddled in the rain for awhile and then came in. It was so dark out there….and kind of creepy. All my stuff on the beach was wet of course…. and now it’s spread all over my lanai to dry! Oh well….. at least it isn’t cold and maybe the sun will come out tomorrow….☀️
It was a Wintery looking morning… but surprisingly humid. The sun struggled to come out but it stayed overcast and voggy most of the day. It was a nice morning for a neighborhood walk! The wind wasn’t moving much so the cloud cover stayed pretty stationary but no rain today. It didn’t look promising for sunset but surprise, surprise ….it ended up being pretty nice! I hope it’s a beach day tomorrow….
