Nice!!!

Beautiful day!!  I walked the beach until the sun came up , watched a pod of whales frolicking and then went for a swim.  The water was refreshing and surprisingly clear after the weather we just had.  The wind was playing games…..moving in and out…. and I debated whether to go Paddling.  Finally I decided to go for it.  I headed south and just as I was passing into Kam 2….. a big turtle popped up!  I had just been thinking  about how great it would be if a turtle showed up and then I wouldn’t go as far as the boat ramp…… then a turtle popped up right in front of me!  I paddled with it all the way to Charley Young beach and then it dove down.  I continued on to Kalama and then headed back.  It was so nice out on the water!  I was so glad I decided to go out and I didn’t have to share the turtle with anyone else!

Beautiful morning!  It sure didn’t look stormy.  I had a nice beach walk until the sun popped up over the mountain and then I went swimming.  That really woke me up!  The water was so calm and pretty clear for the most part.  Then some clouds started to move in and it was windy on and off.  I debated going Paddling.  Then I went out and was so glad I did!  I paddled to the boat ramp and it was calm there.  Dark clouds and rain were threatening to move in….. but not before I had four turtles to myself.  Then I thought it wise to head back.  I sure didn’t want to get stuck in a rain squall out there!  Then another turtle popped up by me as I was passing the point.  Too bad some tourists on rented boards interfered….. but I did get some photos.  The wind kicked up from the north and pushed the dark clouds back so it got sunny and nice for about an hour or so.  Now it’s raining!  Good thing I got out there today!

Nice sunset and warm evening.  The rain has stopped for now.  The ocean seems calmer….just a few waves…. no big shore  break.  Lots of whales frolicking at sunset!  Maybe a beach day tomorrow!  Fingers crossed…..

It was a beautiful morning for a walk!  The rain has stopped for now and things are drying up finally.  The good news is the rain washed away the Vog for now!

Beautiful day!  We need the rain!

I knew it would be voggy today.  It was already coming in last night so by this morning the islands of Lanai and Kahoolawe were barely visible.  The trade winds are not blowing right now…. so the Vog is creeping over from the Big Island.  A light wind from the west created some bumpy conditions for Paddling too…. but I was happy to be out on my board!  At the end of Kam 2….. I ran across a big handsome turtle.  He was swimming north so I turned around and paddled with him to Kam 1.  I didn’t see any turtles  at the point.  I paddled down towards Cove Park and the ocean smoothed out some.  I enjoyed my beach walk this morning and my swim….. the water is so clear!  I watched a crab being harassed by a fish…… very funny!  I hope the Vog blows out soon……

I have been waiting weeks for a day like today!  It was spectacular!  I walked the beach early before the sun came up and then went for a nice swim.  The water is so clear right now!  The wind finally cooperated today and it was quite a Paddling day with eighteen turtles total at the boat ramp!  A snorkeling boat was there with people in the water.  I figured the turtles were hiding but I did see four turtles surfacing.  Then the boat left and it was so peaceful at the boat ramp.  The turtles started to pop up like little jack in the boxes…. fourteen of them!  Many of them smaller, younger turtles….. but suddenly a big turtle surfaced and swam right over to my board…..then I recognized it…. it was Bumpy!!!!   Wow….. I haven’t seen her in weeks.  She posed for me as she usually does so I got great photos!  I sat between two turtles….. and even got surrounded by  a turtle triangle.  I loved every minute!  The nice conditions prevailed on my way back and it stayed SO nice.  Please let me have another day like this tomorrow!!! Please!
