It was a calm, quiet morning.  The tourists were apparently sleeping in.  I walked the beach until the sun rose over the mountain and then it was time for a swim.  The water felt great but visibility was marginal due to the swell disturbance of the last couple of days.  I didn’t see any turtles today.  Then I went out Paddling even though the wind had suddenly come up.  It got bumpy!  I dared not venture too far not trusting what the wind had planned.   The wind gusts kept pushing my hat off my head.  I finally saw one small turtle at the point!  The wind kept up so I went in.  I hope the wind cooperates better tomorrow!

The swell was booming yesterday!  At sunset tonight it seemed to be backing off.  It was a beautiful day for a walk…… even a rainbow!  I hope the water visibility improves and the wind cooperates….. just maybe hope for Paddling and swimming for tomorrow!  We will see…..

Nice!

Wow!  What a nice morning!  No wind and finally glassy conditions out on the water.  I walked the beach until the sun made it out over the mountain….. then I went for a swim.   The water is so clear!  Despite the perfect water….. no turtles to swim with today.  It was a lovely swim though!  Then it just stayed nice so I went out on my board.  I headed down to the boat ramp hoping for some turtles.  When I arrived about 8:45 a.m…… there was a boat there already with eight people snorkeling…. thats early!  I didn’t recognize the boat but that was way too early for them to be there.  The snorkelers were diving down harassing the turtles so there was no way they were coming up.  How annoying!  I paddled back in nice conditions and stopped at the point.  I saw one small turtle but it was right at the rocks and it was too close to rocks for me.  Oh well.  It sure was a beautiful day!  There might be stormy weather on the way for tomorrow….. hopefully it will be a fast moving storm.  I want more perfect days like the past two!

What could be better than Xmas day at the beach?  It was just gorgeous!  Walking the beach until the sun came up over the mountain…… swimming in calm warm water…… and Paddling down to the boat ramp.  I missed the turtles today…. they must have slept in but it was perfect!  I could not have ordered a more perfect day….  I hope for the same tomorrow…..

Brrrr!  That cold wind is back and still some rain but I went to the beach anyway.  I walked the beach in sprinkles hoping the sun would make it out…… but it was struggling to come out.  Finally there was a break in the clouds and the sun made it out briefly.  I went swimming!  The water was warmer than the air.  A male turtle was swimming in my direction so I got to swim with him and take some photos with my underwater camera.  It was chilly coming in out of the water!  I couldn’t seem to warm up…so I went home.  I hope this cold wind backs off soon.  I would love to get out Paddling tomorrow….

There was still some light rain this morning…… but I went down to the beach anyway.  I walked the beach waiting for the sun to come out but it was struggling.  Patchy clouds kept covering it up.  Finally the sun did come out briefly so I went for a swim.  The wind had the water a bit kicked up but the water felt really good!  The visibility was surprisingly good too.  A male turtle came swimming in my direction!  I turned around and swam with it.  I was pretty excited for a turtle this morning!  Coming in was a different story…… it was chilly.  I couldn’t seem to warm up with the wind blowing…. so I headed home.  Maybe Paddling tomorrow…..

The wind is still backed off for now which made for a great paddling day today!  It was so beautiful out on the water.  I paddled south…… destination boat ramp.  It was beautiful paddling and I had the place to myself!  Four turtles came up to visit me and I was very glad to see them!  It made my day.  I paddled back in nice conditions and it stayed calm except for the Vog that was quickly moving in.  I was so happy to be out on my board.  Yesterday was good too but no turtles…..

Finally a more normal day!  The crazy cold wind has ceased for now …… and the water is 80 degrees…. not bad for mid December!  I walked the beach waiting for the sun to come up over the mountain….but the clouds were overpowering it.  I went swimming anyway but it wasn’t as bright as I like it to be.  It was a great swim in super clear water though!  No turtles hanging around today either, only fish.  Then I went out on my board….. it had been over three weeks since I last paddled (way too long!).  A friend and I paddled down to the boat ramp but no turtles were there either.  We did see two whales jumping way out but none too close yet.  We were out a good hour!  Then I swam again …. still no turtles.  I wonder where they all were hiding?  The day stayed very nice too which was a nice change from all the cold wind lately.  I hope it’s nice tomorrow too!
