It was another beautiful day in paradise! The water visibility is still not that great…. but good enough! At first I just saw one turtle….. and it was “Baby”. Then I swam back closer to the rocks and spotted one turtle munching seaweed off the rocks. Then before I knew it, five more turtles showed up too! I loved watching them doing their acrobatics as they fed. The water felt great! I’m hoping for another nice turtle day tomorrow….
What a beautiful Fall day! I love November and soon….. some cooler days. It was great to get out swimming! The water is still 81 degrees! The other day I had sixteen turtles feeding over by the rocky shore…… and then today….. only ONE turtle! Yup…. one pretty hilarious turtle doing head stands to get at the seaweed in the rocks. Well I was certainly entertained! I really miss Paddling though …. I hope soon I can get my back to the point that I am able to get my board off my car and down to the water. Until then…..it’s swimming….
After two weeks in Mexico and one week in San Diego…… we returned to Maui to find big waves occurring! It’s been almost a week since we returned and finally today…… the ocean conditions were getting back to normal! Water visibility still not great……. but the temperature ( water temperature is 81 degrees) felt great! The water ended up being a bit clearer down at the coral…. which was surprising. I swam with five lovely turtles! I hope the water is even better by tomorrow…..
Nice Turtle day!! The water visibility wasn’t great…… but I could see the turtles. I had five turtles in all today! I thoroughly enjoyed them! I hope it’s nice tomorrow too…..
I had the pleasure of swimming with six Spotted Eagle Rays to day!!!!!
Beautiful turtle morning! The water visibility wasn’t that good…. but good enough. I had ten turtles down at the coral and six Spotted Eagle Rays to swim with! It was amazing! Then several turtles were just swimming all around me! It was a good swim workout too…
What a nice day! I had ten turtles to swim with! Some of them were feeding at the rocks and doing some crazy acrobatics! It was hilarious. On my swim back…. I had to yell at a tourist lady! I saw her hanging on to a turtles shell with BOTH hands and then she grabbed the turtles back fins and yanked them! I was livid! What is wrong with people???
It was a perfect morning! It started out breezy….. but the wind backed off and it got so nice. At first, there were no turtles down at the coral and then I ended up with eight turtles….. including two cute baby turtles! It was a joy to swim today and I hope tomorrow will be just as nice….
We dodged another one! Hurricane Olivia came right over Maui…..turned west and belted Lahaina. On the south side, we had minimal wind and rain…. in our little bubble again! I didn’t swim for three days so today I was overjoyed to see my turtles. I had seven turtles! Many of them were feeding on seaweed in the rocks. The water visibility wasn’t too bad despite the choppy days we had. My stand up board is still in the garage and my back and leg still hurt…. so no Paddling right now…
Some people said the water was murky….. but I found it to be okay….. at least I could see the turtles. Nine lovely turtles swam with me! They were swimming around three and four at a time….. it was great! It was still windy conditions so the swim back was quite a workout….. no Paddling today…..
