It was a really nice day…… but windy which made the water choppy.  I went out anyway and headed south.  When I passed Kam 2, I ran into a paddling friend and we headed to the boat ramp.  Suddenly the water smoothed out and the wind backed off!  It got so perfect!  Unfortunately it was crowded at the boat ramp with a outrigger canoe letting off a group of snorkelers, the pontoon boat with its snorkelers and two other boats coming in.  We paddled back to Kam 3 and a turtle surfaced!  I got two photos then it dove down.  It was so perfect that neither of us wanted to go in!  My swim was just as nice!  I want more days like this!

It was a beautiful morning!  Just a little windy but at least blowing from the north.  The conditions looked really good! I paddled south.   It was so beautiful!  Down at the boat ramp….. I had the place to myself.  Only one turtle surfaced and it was a baby.  I paddled back in nice conditions and then went for a swim.  The water felt so good!  The visibility in the water has improved.  On my way back from the reef…… a big turtle appeared in front of me heading south.  I turned around and swam with it for a while!  I was so happy!  I hope tomorrow is just as nice as today……

Beautiful….but a stormy sea…

The conditions have been wonky!  One day it’s perfect and next day there is shore break……. terrible water visibility….. then clear …… then an incredibly beautiful paddling and swimming day…..then a stormy sea and waves!  It seems I never know what each day will bring…. so I feel like I have to be ready to jump on the one nice day that shows up.  I swam with a turtle the other day and had a couple of good turtle days paddling along the way too.  I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

It was a beautiful morning…… and super nice day!  Finally a calm ocean and turtle day!  It’s Spring break this week so there are way too many people at the beach …. but what a perfect day.  It was great to get back out paddling and back to my turtles!  It stayed nice all the way through my swim too.  Even the water clarity was improved today!  I want another day like this one for tomorrow….. I can hope…..

Nice!

Such a beautiful day after the evening rain.  So fresh!  The rain washed away a lot of the Vog too.   I just swam today but it was really great!  I followed a baby turtle for a few minutes until it dashed away from me!

Beautiful!   And then it started pouring rain!  I got soaked!

Finally it was a paddling day!  So nice and surrounded by six lovely turtles!  I really needed a day like that.  I paddled the next day too but no turtles that day.  There were about eight snorkelers so my guess is the turtles were hanging on the bottom to get away from them……

Beautiful sunrise sky and nice day.  The ocean was calm too!  By the time I got back down to the beach, though, the wind was threatening.  I decided to just swim today.  It was choppy! It was overcast so visibility wasn’t as good but I saw fish.  I swam almost to the end of Charley Young beach and on my way back I ran across a turtle swimming north.  I turned around and swam with it for a while .  I was so happy to see a turtle!  Sadly it had a tumor on its right front flipper…… I really hate seeing that.  I hope tomorrow is a Paddling day!
