Colorful start to the day….. but it only lasted a few minutes.  Sometimes you just have to catch it!  Beautiful time of the day to be out.  The rest of the day was nice too.  The tradewinds are back so the Vog has blown out to sea…… Lanai is visible again! I got down to the beach later than I had planned so I decided to just swim today.  I swam down almost to the end of Charley Young beach and on the way back I ran into a turtle!  I was so glad to see a turtle!  I turned around and swam north with it for awhile…… until it swam out to sea.  It was a very healthy looking female….. yay!  The water visibility is still not great….. but hey…. it was good enough!  I hope it’s a calm morning tomorrow!  I want to paddle…..

WOW!!!!!

Just Wow!  I had been waiting for that perfect day……. and today it happened!  So nice.   Calm conditions and sunny with a slight breeze…..lovely!  I couldn’t wait to get out on my board.  I paddled down to the boat ramp and it was so nice there.  I spotted a turtle and paddled out to it but it disappeared before I could get a photo.  I don’t know where the rest of the turtles were hiding!  It was okay….. it was still perfect!  I paddled back in nice conditions and even got to swim.   The water visibility was better….. at least I could see the bottom!  I did see a few fish too.  It was just a very nice day following days of shore break, so I soaked it up!  I hear another winter swell is coming so we will see what tomorrow brings……

It was a very beautiful day…… even with the Vog still hanging  around.  Still some shore break waves and murky water due to the swell……so it was some backstroke seimming for me today.  I miss paddling……we need a break from these conditions!  But the lifeguard told me there are back to back north-west swells this week so I just have to be patient.  The sunset was just beautiful!

The moon setting……some color in the sunrise…… red flags for the shore break conditions …… it was a swim day!   The water is still pretty dirty from the swell activity though.  We may have more of this in the next week too…..I can’t wait for Mother Nature to do her thing and then get back to good paddling conditions!  Patience!

Vog creeped over throughout the day…… creating a magical sunset!

Mellow at dawn…… beautiful day with Vog creeping in though.   Nice paddling but no turtles today…..Swimming in clear water finally.  Let it be nice again tomorrow!

It really was a perfect day too!

As soon as I walked to the beach this morning …… I knew it was a paddling day! It’s the 8th of January today and I had not had a turtle day yet this year…… so I hoped it was today.  The day ended up being super nice all the way around!  Blue skies…… calm water…… light breeze…..and TURTLES!  I was thrilled to be paddling in nice conditions all the way  down to the boat ramp!  It was perfect at the boat ramp and a total of four turtles.  One turtle especially posing for pictures!  It was so nice!  I paddled back in perfect conditions and I didn’t want to come in!  But swimming was nice too with just a little more wind blowing but still very nice.  It was nice to have some clear water after all the storms and run off that occurred.  I was happy to see lots of fish down at the reef today…… even a school of about 24 fish swam under me!  Please give me a tomorrow…. just like today!  Please!
