It was a much nicer day than yesterday.  The ocean conditions were so much better today.  No wind swells like yesterday …… very nice!  I paddled down to the boat ramp and two snorkelers were in the area.  I paddled out farther and two turtles popped up!  I sat between them and took photos.  Then a third turtle swam over to check me out.  It was so nice at the boat ramp!  My fourth and fifth turtle surfaced by my board and one of them swam all around my board.  It was so great to see turtles today!  I paddled back in nice conditions and it stayed nice throughout my swim.  The water was not as clear as it has been but I still saw fish down at the reef.  Beautiful Maui day!

Very nice!

It was a nice quiet sunrise this morning…….no wind and nice and cool for walking.  By the time I got back down to the beach…… the wind wasn’t blowing but the white caps out farther explained the swells rolling in.  I paddled out and immediately was paddling over swells!  It was hard to paddle somewhat sideways ….. keeping an eye on the swells pumping behind me.   I sure didn’t want to get knocked off my board!  I thought I would turn around at the end of Kam 2 but I kept paddling.  I was hoping the ocean would calm down….. no such luck!  Two turtles surfaced but they were getting bounced around as much as I was.  I decided to paddle back and not hang around in case those swells got bigger!  It was work paddling back.  By the time I was passing Kam 2…… the ocean calmed!  It got pretty nice for awhile.  Then the wind came up bringing in the white caps.  The gusts were getting quite strong sending beach umbrellas flying and anything else not secured. Luckily I managed to get my board up on my racks and strapped down.  It was windy for my swim!  I swam north into the wind and got a push on the way back.  It’s a joy to swim in this super clear water right now!  I hope it’s calmer tomorrow…..

Finally my turtles are back!!  It was a beautiful day but wind was blowing from the south.  It was pretty choppy so I figured I would turn around at Kam 2….. but as luck would have it…. the wind backed off enough to encourage me to keep paddling south!  At the boat ramp the ocean calmed down and the turtles came up!  Altogether there were five of them and I was so glad to see them.  The conditions stayed decent paddling back but the wind started to play games just as I was getting back.  It got pretty windy while I tried to hurry to load my board onto my racks!  I decided to swim against the south wind, down to the reef.  The water clarity is great right now!  I saw lots of fish including a few Rainbow fish and Humu Humu fish.  The wind gave me a boost on my way back!  Just as I was getting ready to leave the beach….. the wind backed off again….. I hope it’s nice tomorrow!

It was a transukl morning sky and a very nice day out on the water …… bit as perfect as yesterday ….. but still really nice.  I paddled south towards the boat ramp.  I had the place to myself but there wasn’t a turtle to be found.  It seems that it’s been a couple of days since I saw any turtles….. I wonder where they are hiding.  I paddled back in nice conditions and then went swimming.  The water is delightful right now with great visibility!  I saw lots of fish …… even a tiny Puffer fish!  I hope the turtles show up tomorrow……I miss them.

A lovely ending to a lovely day…….

Well it was a gorgeous day!   Perfect paddling conditions too….. but no turtles today.  The white caps were way out and hadn’t come in by the time I left either.  I headed south to the boat ramp….I was headed there yesterday too when the dolphins showed up.  It was beautiful down at the boat ramp too.  The turtles must have been mad at me for ditching them yesterday!  Oh well…. I met up with a paddling buddy and we chatted for awhile…. then I paddled back.  It was a beautiful swim too!  I’m really enjoying how clear and warm the ocean is right now.  I swam down at the reef and saw lots of fish!  I hope it’s this nice tomorrow ….

What a beautiful Fall day!  It was a bit windy…. blowing from the south.  I ran into a paddling friend and we got down to the end of Kam 2….. when she yelled “dolphins”!  I looked out and saw two paddlers behind a pod of Spinner dolphins heading north!  I took off in a flash without saying anything to my friend!  It was great!   I counted at least fifteen dolphins!  I paddled right up to them and then they were all around me!  They emerged from the water right next to me and I fumbled in excitement trying to get my phone in place to photograph them!  They move fast!  I got three photos…. two ended up blurry…. but one did come out!  I finally got a photo of dolphins!  They zipped along single, in groups of two and four….. it was so exciting!  We paddled along with them all the way down to outside of Cove Park…… then it was getting more choppy so I made my way in.  I can’t believe I got a dolphin day!  I swam in super clear water too and saw so many fish.   I also swam with a turtle who was heading south ….. what an amazing day!

Wow!!!!!!!  This show lasted for a mere 12 minutes……. I’m so glad I got photos!
