Well hello!

Well I’m in shock….. It was another perfect day today!  Two perfect days in a row plus turtles too!  The water was just perfect and glassy and I paddled straight down to the boat ramp.  A turtle was waiting for me!  As you can see….. The turtle posed for me!  Then another turtle popped up….

Boom!

I sat between the two turtles for a few minutes and then a third turtle surfaced and I was in a turtle triangle for the first time in a while!  One more turtle joined us and then a slight wind came up that prompted me to head back.  Four friendly turtles all in one morning!  I didn’t even have to share them either since I was the only one there!  I paddled back with a breeze in my face but the wind never got any stronger.  My swim was great too!

Am I hoping for another perfect day for tomorrow?  You bet I am!

Perfect paddling!

What a gorgeous Fall day!  I think the hurricanes are behind us now and hopefully we will have many more perfect Fall days coming up.  I paddled south and ran into a paddling friend at Kam 2.  She had been away for three months and was happy to be back on her board!  We paddled down to the boat ramp and conditions were excellent.  We sat and chatted for a while and then my friend pointed out a turtle behind me.  I turned to see it.  It was a small turtle and it dove under the water.  Then another turtle surfaced near us too.  We were just about to head back when I spotted a big turtle swimming towards us.  The turtle swam right between us!  When it surfaced I snapped it’s picture…

The turtle didn’t stay long but three turtles were better than no turtles!  We paddled back in nice conditions.  It was just one of those days that you don’t want to come in!  It was that nice!

My swim was great too.  I swam down to the reef and the visibity was improving.  I wonder what tomorrow will be like?  Seems like these days…… We never know!

Nice!

Yesterday was such a beautiful day.   There have been such high tides lately…. that unless the tide was in the process of going low…… there were a few strong surging waves breaking on shore.  I try to avoid those conditions but yesterday I just wanted get out paddling!  I got out okay and I even saw a small turtle on my way out but a tourist was chasing it!  That is a big No No!  Once I got out….. Paddling was great!  Because it was a bit later I decided to stay closer to home and turned back at the end of Kam 2.  I was careful coming in and timed it right.  My swim was good too but visibility was terrible!  After a while….. I don’t feel comfortable not being able to see around me.  I’m not sure what is causing the lack of visibility lately.  It’s always nice to get into the ocean though!  I hope it’s good conditions tomorrow…..

Just  WOW!!!!!   It was a gorgeous perfect Fall day today.  Sunny skies and calm water…. Even the visibility in the water was better today!   I paddled down to the boat ramp hoping for turtles.  The turtles haven’t been around lately……. But today was different!  I had eleven turtles visit me today!  One of them was Bumpy too!  Bumpy posed for some of the photos!

today was the first time in a while that I was surrounded by turtles!  I loved every minute!  My swim was nice too.  It was just a spectacular day.  Lately I don’t expect perfect days in a row….. But today was even nicer than yesterday!

Wow…..the conditions have been hit and miss lately.  It didn’t help that Hurricsne Olaf was busy stirring things up either.  The wind has been unpredictable as well with super windy one day….. Windy off and on another day….. To the perfect morning this morning!  I couldn’t wait to get out there!  It was so perfect for paddling.  I paddled all the way down to the boat ramp and it was so peaceful there!

Tranquility

Eventhough it was tranquil…… I didn’t see a single turtle.  I wonder where they are hiding out?  I am also watching for whales now but haven’t seen any of those either.  My swim was a good one despite the lousy visibility right now.  I hope that clears up soon!  It was a really nice day but who knows what tomorrow will bring!  We shall see……

Crazy bad roads!

We ventured off road to look for Cabo Pulmo.  It is a national park and reserve.  We had no idea the roads would be so terrible!  Miles of bad roads and pot holes and rocks!  They seemed to be trying to improve the roads but it looked like it could take years!  A four wheel drive, truck or jeep would be a better option than a crappy rental car!  Next time!  My husband enjoyed the off road driving…… Me not so much!  I’m always worried about getting stranded since it’s such a remote area.  It had also rained recently and there where a lot of flooded spots on the roads.  We braved it through most of them but just close to the entrance to the park……. We’re two fully flooded spots.  I didn’t want to risk getting stuck in mud and it was getting late…. So we opted for a beautiful deserted beach to hang out at.  Next tome we will get a better vehicle and stay a night or two!  We took a side road down to the beach and saw a lot of jack rabbits with huge ears!  The better to hear you with!  Suddenly the clouds over the mountain got dark and threatening!  Then came thunder echoing off the mountain……. Neat and scary at the same time.  What a beautiful remote place!  I had fun collecting a bunch of cool shells too!  We headed out because we didn’t want to get caught in pouring rain trying to maneuver out on the crappy roads.  Luckily we made it to the main road in time for the pouring rain!  It was crazy driving back in pouring rain but it did wash all the splattered mud off the car!  It was quite an adventure!
