A Dozen Turtles!

Beautiful day to get back in the water!

Wow, it was a beautiful day to get back in the ocean!  Sunny skies and a slight breeze blowing from the north.  I paddled down to Cove Park and made my turn south and the conditions were perfect.  It was a smooth trip down to the boat ramp.  Just as I was passing Kam III, a turtle popped right up in front of me and I almost ran over it!  Luckily for the turtle, it acted fast and dove down just before I got to it.  I continued on and ran into two more turtles.  I paddled out further and was surrounded by three turtles! The wind was getting stronger and I started to paddle back but then ran into turtle #7.  Suddenly I was in the middle of two more turtles!  I paddled further north and found myself in the middle of three more turtles.  That was a dozen!  The ocean began to get some white caps, so I decided I had better get back before it got more windy.  It was a good workout paddling back against the wind, but I made it back okay.  By the time I swam, the wind had backed off a bit so it was a nice swim.  By the time I left, it got very windy.  I hope it’s nice tomorrow for New Years Day!
