Swimming with my Buddy!

You found me!

You found me!

It’s been a while since I made my way down to the boat ramp to see my turtles.  I decided to go for a swim early today because we are traveling later…….the morning was so beautiful!  I’m not usually out that early, but watching the sun come up over Haleakala while swimming was pretty nice.  The visibility still wasn’t that great, but halfway through my swim, a turtle appeared under me!  I swam with it for a while and the turtle was not in any hurry.  I could see it look at me twice…..then it moved up towards me……so  close!  I got to rub it’s shell twice!  It stayed with me for a little while and then it headed out to sea.  I surfaced momentarily and a few yards away, the turtle surfaced too and looked at me one more time and then disappeared!  I really needed that turtle encounter today!  I look forward to one day soon when I can resume my usual paddling route and visit with the turtles every day…….
