Bumpy!!

Bumpy ride!

Bumpy ride!

The wind has been something else!  This morning the water was not calm……I knew I was in for a bumpy ride.  I could see the white caps looming out in the distance and I wondered when they would move in.  I decided to get out on my board anyway.  I ran into a paddling friend and we decided to take a chance and paddle down to the boat ramp.  By the time we got to Kam 3, the ocean got really bumpy!  I started to think that the ocean was not being friendly at all.  We turned around and paddled north.  Just as we passed Charley Young Beach a turtle popped up!  Then when we got to Cove Park, the ocean was glassy.  We wondered how it could be so calm there and so bumpy farther south.  We hung around there for a few minutes and then headed back into the bumpy water!  We paddled down past Kam 1 and another turtle popped up.  I decided to head in and get to my swim.  Just as I was heading in, a snorkeler pointed out a big turtle just under her!  I hung around there for a few minutes watching the turtle and then I headed in.

Still bumpy!

Still bumpy!

It stayed windy all the way through my swim.  I swam against the wind to the north and then rode the wind back.  The water is still very clear!  I don’t know when this wind will make up it’s mind on what it wants to do but it’s always great to get out on my board.  It was still a beautiful day!

Nice!

Nice!
