Turtle Day!!

Gorgeous day!   Great paddling conditions prevailed and I visited with six turtles….. including Bumpy.  Bumpy was in a mood….. bumping my board and swimming around me and swimming under my board with a big bump under me!  Then she emerged on the other side of me and bumped me again!  Five other turtles were willing participants in picture taking along with Bumpy.  I loved hanging out with my buddies this morning!  But then I noticed the surface of the water changing so I headed back.  Just as I was passing Kam 3…… the gentle East wind gave way to a very strong North wind.  I was quickly engulfed in wind, wind waves and white caps!  It was such a struggle paddling against the wind.  The wind swells were beating me up pretty good so I entertained the thought of bailing out at Kam 2….. But I just kept paddling.  I finally got past the rocky point and then knew I would make it back.  I was exhausted!  Just as I got in to shore….. the wind backed off.  After I swam….. the wind picked up again… this time blowing from the south.  The water is still 81 degrees!  I hope I don’t get caught in the wind tomorrow!
