Yes….. it’s been windy…… and early.  I finally decided that I would need to get out swimming and Paddling before ten o’clock.  I took a beach walk with wrist weights on while the sun came up over the mountain.  It was a beautiful morning!  Then I took off for my swim.  I swam for awhile before I spotted a turtle swimming towards me.  The turtle hung out for a few minutes and I got video and photos!  After it moved out to sea….. I was heading back when another turtle was heading in my direction!  That turtle was just hanging out too.  Then it also headed out to sea so I came in.  What a great way to start the day!  The wind was still threatening but I took my board out anyway.  I figured I had at least an hour before the white caps moved in but when I got down to the boat ramp…… I wasn’t so sure!  One turtle surfaced and then I paddled back against some wind and chop.  I stopped at the point and had three turtles visit me.  One annoying tourist guy kept swimming after the turtles causing them to hide.  I wanted to say something!  Fortunately I did get some turtle photos.  Right after I came in from Paddling….. suddenly the wind backed off but it only lasted for about twenty minutes!  I hope the wind patterns get back to normal soon….

The wind was blowing in gusts but I went out Paddling anyway.  I was hoping the wind would back off like it did yesterday…… but by the time I reached the end of Kam 2….. it was clear that was not going to happen.  I crossed paths with a lifeguard out Paddling and he said he was watching the wind line and that he thought it was going to come in soon.  I was paddling over continuous wind swells but continued down to Charley Young beach….. then turned around and came in.  No sooner had I  rinsed my board off and strapped it on my racks……the wind line came in bringing gusts of wind.   Good timing!  Maybe the wind will cooperate tomorrow……

Beautiful morning!  I did a beach walk until the sun came up over the mountain …. then I went swimming.  I was near the end of my swim when a female turtle approached me.  I swam with her for awhile getting lots of photos and video!  Then she headed out to sea, so I headed in.  I had already taken all my gear off….and a turtle swam right past me!  I threw on my mask and snorkel and just hung on to my fins and swam in the turtle’s  direction.  All of a sudden a much larger turtle popped into view and I started filming the two of them seeming to be playing!  What a treat!  The larger turtle moved north and the smaller turtle was just hanging around.  Wow…. I got lucky with clear water and three lovely turtles!!!!

I can’t lie……,despite it being a beautiful morning…..,it was windy.   I went out on my board and hoped the wind would back off and it did!  Just about the time I was passing Kam 3….. the wind suddenly backed off.  It was nice at the boat ramp!  Unfortunately there were two outrigger canoes there from one of the hotels with snorkelers in the water.  One big turtle surfaced and swam in my direction…. but when I tried to get photos of it, the snorkelers were all over it!  Very maddening!  Luckily they left and I was visited by seven more turtles…… all to myself.  It was great!  I got to sit right between two of the turtles too.  I paddled back in nice conditions but no turtles at the point today.  Oh well…. I got nine turtles for the day so I was super happy!  I hope tomorrow is the same…..

Beautiful morning!  I did a beach walk as the sun came up and then went swimming.  A lovely turtle met me as I headed out and I swam with it getting video and photos!  I loved every minute! Next is Paddling……

It was just going to be a breezy day.  I just hoped it was going to back off….. but with the exception of TWENTY minutes….. it stayed breezy!  I love Paddling anyway so I paddled south with my hope… which I gave up on by the time I reached Kam 3.  Oh well….. I paddled back to the point where there were TOO MANY tourists snorkeling but I did see several turtles ( even perhaps the smallest turtle ever seen at that spot!)  One larger turtle did hang on the surface and pop its head up a couple of times ….but snorkelers were in my way so I could not get a photo.  Sigh.  I know it’s just going to get worse as winter approaches on the mainland.  Swimming was great, though, and the water is still very clear!

I went down early to the beach and decided to just stay down there.  I went for a beach walk as the sun came up over the mountain.  The water looked so clear so I decided to swim first.   What a nice swim!  Then I grabbed my board and went out Paddling…… it was so nice.  I met up with a Paddling friend and we headed to the boat ramp.  We spotted one turtle right away but it disappeared as we got to it.  Then we waited …… finally another turtle surfaced and I got some photos.  Then one more turtle popped up.  Three turtles at the boat ramp!  We paddled back in super nice conditions and two more turtles  surfaced at the point between Kam 2 & 1!  I headed back to Kam 1 and I spotted one more turtle swimming in front of me.  I paddled along with it for a while and then turned around to go in.  Six turtles in all today!  Then it was still so nice …..that I went for a second swim!  Nice day!
