OH yes…..it was so nice this morning!  Yesterday’s conitions did not prevail today.  It was nice and glassy but somewhat overcast.  I was watching north where I could see that it’s was raining pretty hard …. wondering if it was moving in my direction.  I paddled south down to Kam 3 and then turned around just in case.  By the time I got back to Kam 1….. The rain had moved up over the west maui mountains and the sun was trying to come out.  I paddled north almost to Cove Park and then turned around.  It was so beautiful!  My swim was equally as nice but no turtles today.  After swimming,  I noticed it was now raining pretty hard out over Kahoolawe.  Within the hour it started getting windy from the south and that brought the rain cloud in.  Soon it started raining on the beach!  I was glad I had paddled and swam already.  It was time to pack up and head home……..

Well it wasn’t the calm glassy morning like yesterday! The wind was blowing from the north but I thought it might back off. I headed for the boat ramp in hopes of another turtle day. When I arrived the wind still hadn’t backed off. One turtle surfaced and then another one…… I got some photos but I was watching the wind. It was getting g stronger instead of backing off! Soon it got even stronger with gusts so I decided to paddle back. What a workout! I ended up paddling against the wind all the way back! I was so tired. Just as I paddled into the homestretch….. The wind backed off. It got just besutiful! My swim was great and visibility good. I really felt the fatigue in my arms. So much for besting the wind early! Maybe tomorrow…..

What a super nice morning!  It was a bit overcast but the water was calm and glassy!  Of course I paddled down to the boat ramp where two lovely turtles greeted me.  I started getting some photos and then I found myself surrounded by four more turtles! Then a very friendly turtle popped up by my board and it hung by me for a while…. It was so neat!  It just lounged by my board without a care in the world!  Just as I was having a great time with my turtles …. The snorkel  boat went out and cruised right around me scattering the turtles.  That damn boat!  Two more smaller turtles surfaced anyway and that made a total of nine turtles for the day!  I headed back in nice conditions…actually… perfect conditions.  It was so calm!  My swim was very nice too with excellent visibility!  It was such a perfect morning!

Ahhhhh!

What a gorgeous morning!  I walked early and just stayed down at the beach and I’m glad I did.  This was the nicest morning since last Wednesday!  No one was out…… Only me.  I always wonder when no one else is out…… Like somehow I didn’t get the memo!  But it was so nice.  I ran across my first turtle just between Kam 1 &2.  I was so happy to see it!  I fumbled for the camera but the turtle dove down and disappeared.  It was so nice and no sight of any white caps……. So I decided to paddle down to the boat ramp.  It was nice down there too!  I called out for the turtles but none came around today.  At least I got one turtle!  The conditions just kept getting nicer and by the time I paddled back….. I didn’t want to come in.  My swim was equally as nice though!  The water visibility is improved but still cloudy down by the reef.  I sure hope tomorrow is just as nice as today!
