Windy, Then Nice!

Paddling north

Paddling north

The wind has been crazy!  I ended up just swimming on Monday and yesterday it was blown out early, so today I was going out no matter what!  When I first got up this morning the wind was not blowing, but by the time I got to the beach, the wind was blowing from the north/west.  It was such a nice Fall day, but it was going to be a windy ride!  Sure enough, the wind kept  blowing from the north, so I paddled into the wind down to Kalama Park.  I stayed there watching the surfers and hoping that some turtles would come around….but no turtles today.  When I turned to paddle south, the wind pushed me along!  I got down to Kam 2, when I ran into a paddling friend, so we paddled and chatted.  Suddenly the wind backed off and it got really nice!  It was getting late and neither of us trusted the wind, so we paddled north down to Charley Young Beach.  Well, it stayed nice!  I didn’t want to go in but I wanted to swim too.  The wind stayed reasonable while I swam and the water is still so warm.  The visibility was not a good as Monday. though,  down at the reef, but I still saw fish!  It was still pretty nice when I left the beach…not too hot and not too windy.  I hope this wind gets back to normal soon!
