WINDY!!

Windy day!

Windy day!

When I got up this morning, the skies were overcast and it was a bit windy.  Finally the sun came out and I headed down to the beach.  The wind was still blowing but I decided to go out anyway.  The wind was blowing from the south, like yesterday, but today it was stronger.  I paddled against the wind all the way down to the boat ramp, but when I arrived there, the wind backed off a bit and it got really nice down there!  One turtle popped up as I passed Kam 3,  but no turtles surfaced while I was at the boat ramp.  Two people were snorkeling so I asked them if they were seeing any turtles and they said six turtles were down on the bottom.  For whatever reason, the turtles are not coming up like they usually do.  I met a paddling friend down at the boat ramp, so we paddled back together and the wind pushed us north.  She went in at Kam 2 and I headed back to Kam I.  Just as I was passing the point between the two beaches, I spotted a big turtle under the water!  It was windy, but I tried to stay with it until it surfaced.  It surfaced twice, but I was getting pushed around by the wind!  I made it in but it stayed windy while I swam too.  The water is still so warm and there were a lot of fish down by the reef.  I hope this early morning wind stops soon.  The trade winds are necessary, but usually they wait until later in the day to come up.  I want another calm day like yesterday! I know…..I’m spoiled!
